In Jette, CULA is your trusted partner for renovations that reflect the charm and tranquility of the municipality. We transform your house or apartment into a haven of peace, combining functionality and aesthetics.
Jette is a residential municipality in north-west Brussels: terraced and detached houses from the 1930s to the 1960s, townhouses around the squares, more recent apartment buildings and several parks, such as Parc de la Jeunesse or Parc Garcet. The UZ Brussel university hospital also draws students and healthcare staff.
Extending at the back or on the roof, converting lofts, insulating post-war houses, replacing windows, enlarging a small bathroom, an open kitchen onto the garden.
In the Brussels Region, the depth and height of an extension are governed by the regional planning regulation and municipal rules. A small volume may be exempt from a permit, a larger one is not: have the project checked before you sign. An architect is often needed for the file.
In Jette we renovate many post-war houses, often with an extension at the back. For the projects we see most often here, expect in general: insulating 80 m² of roof (standard range): €3,500 to €7,000; a complete 6 m² bathroom (standard range): €13,500 to €19,000; a 10 m² fitted kitchen, installation included (standard range): €14,500 to €25,500. Amounts include 6% VAT (home over 10 years old), for a site in average condition. The exact price depends on the property's condition: we set it after the free visit.
The RENOLUTION grants will not return: the 2027 regional budget, agreed on 4 October 2026, plans zero-interest loans for energy renovation instead, expected in spring 2027. On obligations, every Brussels home will need an EPB certificate and must reach class E (275 kWh/m²/year) by 1 January 2033 at the latest. And since 1 June 2025, no oil boiler may be installed during works.
What extension is possible at the back of a house in Jette?
It depends on the depth of the neighbouring houses, the height and the free space inside the block. A general rule isn't enough: the municipality or an architect checks the project on plan.
Are post-war houses easy to insulate?
Often yes: cavity walls can be insulated by injection if the cavity is wide enough, and the roof and windows follow. A survey always comes first: damp and ventilation are dealt with at the same time.
Does a post-war house in Jette easily reach class E?
Often yes, with an insulated roof, recent windows and a modern boiler. These houses have regular walls and simple volumes, which makes insulation easier.
